MERCEDES-BENZ Rear suspension

Mercedes-Benz rear suspension is independent of the type with coil springs and five each link.Rear axle carrier is attached to the body at four points and deck supports.

Shock absorbers and coil springs are mounted on rubber pads to reduce vibration and noise.
SETTING

Features and adjustments for wheel alignment

Shock

Coil

Removal and Installation

Expansion of the rear suspension & Axle

2nd Cut the two brake lines and the seal. Loosen the nut of the drive shaft and land on the floor frame and remove. Separate the back of the front drive shaft and slides, centering position. Drive shaft of the wire on the brake cable bracket.

3rd Remove to cover the spring link. Remove the shock absorbers and coil springs. Loosen torsion bar connected to the rear and remove.

4th For vehicles with ABS, drain the rear axle. Remove the speedometer of the rear axle housing. Cover magnetic sensor system.

5th remove vehicles with auxiliary heating, the electric fuel pump exhaust and the suspension plate. Remove the cable from the rear torsion beam axle. Raise rear wheel to stop lifting. Force water drain hose carrier rear axle.

6th For vehicles with CIS-E fuel injection system, the suction pinch of fuel from the tank and fuel pump with a clamp. Loosen the hose clamp on the fuel pump and battery. Remove the fuel hose.

7th In all models, front and rear rubber remove items on the floor with the frame and remove the pressure plate. Lower the rear of the vehicle.

CAMBER STRUT

1st Raise vehicle and support with safety stands. Mounts rubber leg fall can be replaced individually. If rubber mounts are damaged, replace fall leg.

2nd Remove the screw supporting strut axis. Remove the screw support bar sleeve locking the wheel of the wheel support leg.

3rd Remove leg fall easily when pulling subframe support to the outside on a bike. Remove leg in a downward direction.

TRACTION STRUT

PUSH STRUT

1st Raise vehicle and support with safety stands. Remove the cover slide leg. Slide rubber mounts on leg can be replaced individually. When rubber elements are damaged, replace push leg. Remove the screw support strut to the axle. Remove the screw supporting strut the wheel with the puck and the disc contour.

2nd Turn on the rear support strut down. Force clamping sleeve wheel carrier. Remove leg press.

To install, reverse the removal procedure. Axle shaft must be horizontal prior to tightening the nuts pushing leg.

SPRING LINK

1st Raise vehicle and support with safety stands. Remove to cover the spring link. Remove lower bolt of shock. Delete link torsion bar. Remove coil spring as described above.

2nd Remove spring link-to-rail axis. Remove the spring push link at the wheel. Remove spring link.

To install, reverse the removal procedure. Axle shaft must be horizontal prior to tightening the nuts link spring.

Wheel

1st Loosen the nut rear wheel shaft before lifting vehicles and removing the wheel. Remove with remover (201 589 00 61 00), the rear axle shaft of the rear axle shaft flange.

2nd Remove brake caliper and spend time visiting with a hook. Remove brake disc. Remove the middle lever and parking brake release cable control. Pull the cord lock.

3rd Remove the foil camber strut to the wheel by wheel clamping sleeve anchor leg. Remove the screw strut carrier traction of the wheel. Force clamping sleeve of strut support traction wheel.

4th Mark position of eccentric leg draw against the subframe. Wrench (201 589 2000 03 00), remove the nut carrier strut suspension. Keep pulling your leg finish.

5th Remove Tracked rod nut, the wheel Usage Extractor (01 33 201589 00) and thrust piece (201,589 in May 1963 00), force track rod from wheel carrier.

6th Mark the positions of the eccentric rod means to the axle beam. Remove the nut holder rod axis. Remove cam, eccentric and Rod full length.

7th Remove the tough nut to move the strut knuckle and remove the puck contour, and the screw. Force clamping sleeve wheel carrier.

8th Remove Remove the nut on the link spring and wheel support. Drag the whole wheel of the rear axle shaft.

1st To install, reverse the removal procedure. If the position of the eccentric pin bar are not for traction and shock-coupling, indicating the position of the eccentric bolt in the center position.

2nd However, before tightening all the nuts from the axle shaft must be horizontal. Clean the grease from the ball pin and conical seat of the rod runway. Check the blade tip and angle in the direction of the rear wheels.
